Sun Moon Lake, 日月潭 in Nantou County

This lake is located in the middle of Taiwan, with an elevation of 748 meters.

It is the only natural big lake in Taiwan. The east lake is shaped like a sun and the west has a long form like a moon.

Even Sponge Bob and Vaiana are represented here !

The aboriginal Thao tribe lives around the lake, and are the proprietors of many local businesses.

Every weekends, tourists descend on Sun Moon Lake, so it's better to come during a weekday

But, we go during the holiday so it's worse !

The weather was bad...and there are lot of people.

I think we will return in summer !

In the centre of the lake is a small island named Lalu, and is reserved for aboriginal religious practices, therefore the public is not allowed to visit the island.​
